FUNDING - Claudio Desousa

Funding

Our group will be putting all of the money that we use for our production from our pockets, we have some equipment of our own that we will be using and we have already casted some actors that we will be using from performing arts. We also have our locations and props listed for which we will use for filming our short film. In our group we have someone that owns a camera that is better than the ones that we would use from college so we will be using that one, but as nobody owns a microphone that we could use so we will be needing to borrow one from college. Also, the houses that we will be using won’t be needing to be paid for because we will be either using people in our group’s houses or friends’ homes. Also, the props that we are going to use are either owned by one of us or we know people that have them so our props are all going to be free for us to use. So in conclusion, the majority of things that we will be using for this short film is going to be free for us to use, there might be some things that we will use like cigarettes, alcohol bottles and food that are going to be funded from pocket but other than things like that it should be an easy production to fund coming to a total cost of under £50 which for a short film compared to the other films in this genre is a lot cheaper than any of the films like it, for example Kidulthood had a budget of £600,000. But unlike them we don’t have to pay for our actors or any of the props that we will use in our short film. But as we are going to be making a short film compared to their which is 91 minutes long ours on the contrary should only last about 15 to 20 minutes which is less than half the time of their film, making it cheaper to film for paying actors, also as they are using professional actors and we are using college students it would be cheaper to use college students as they would normally work for free to build up their list of productions that they have been in.
