PROPOSAL - Romain

My plan was to wait until the majority of my group had posted their proposals so that i could read and take from them and form my own proposal using interesting aspects form theirs,
One thing that they all had in common was the fact that they wanted it to be an urban drama based round teenagers and their lives so that genre is written in stone, One of my group members proposed that it should be about " gang life in Hackney " in which i think would be an important factor in my idea so taking from that statement i will explain what my plot will be,

The plot is fairly simple, we follow the life a young adult living in harsh urban surroundings just trying to get by, we soon learn that his brother is in prison but we don't know why but as we follow this young lad he has to make a series of life changing decisions which could involve an idea in my one of group members proposals which was about a "teenage girl, who falls pregnant", now this can be a decision in which he has to make so maybe there is a moment where him and his girlfriend have an intimate moment and the decision is whether he uses protection or not and this can reflect on an issue many teenagers face which is teenage pregnancy.

But this isn't all, upon making the right decisions we find that his brother who is locked up has been through the same situations but made the wrong decision resulting in him being prison, of course the decisions become more and more serious as we progress and we see the final decision his brother made and the decision which put him in prison which could involve the taking of someone's life, the gravity of these situations will emphasize how serious these problems are and that they do occur.
Another idea I stumbled upon whilst reading proposal from a member of my group in which i thought was a good idea was "a male in their 20s playing a leader or boss an it will show the workers who work for him them making money". The idea i took from this was to have the protagonist get into business with the wrong people maybe due to money problems coinciding with his girlfriend and his life at home, this could also be a decision he makes as in whether he decides to take the drugs and begin dealing or he says no, again we see that his brother took the drugs and began selling and even consuming it.

Now you see the pattern the rest should be fairly self explanatory and i would like to further discuss the rest with my group,
as there is quite a bit of content  we will have to diminish certain bit and substitute specific areas to ensure that it fits the given criteria which brings me to another factor a fellow group member added to their proposal which was the length of the Short film/Trailer.
"we could even submit it for film festivals in a 10min criteria because if it was like 3mins we might not be able to portray an the story line properly an grab the audiences to want to watch it." this gives us an insight as to what audience would be watching this, who its targeted towards, where it could potentially be played and more.

This is all I could come up with for the moment, the rest is group discussion really, im sure our group will come to an agreement and decide on what path to pursue.

It then was changed to a simpler plot where 3 people were kidnapped and we find out who ordered the kidnapping but not who was trying to help one of them escape via phone call.

We will most likely be borrowing it from the college but we also have a group member who owns his own so if needed we can use some multicamera skills we learned from our previous unit.

We will most likely use our group member’s camera as it is better than the colleges in terms of specs and although they are similar his experience with his will be an asset to our overall efficiency.

  • Tri Pod

Much alike the DSLR we have access to the college one of our group members and we will most likely use it.

  • Boom Mic

There has been talk of a crane being used but I’m not well informed as where this is going but as they are fairly expensive so im guessing there a simple rental could be right idea.

Props will be accessible wherever as they are very conventional, simple things such as
